i just bought a used ps3 and signed up to ps3 so when i first tried to get online it tells me " you cannot sign in using another users id( e-mail address ") help please

if you really want to make a random new email address and change the email over to that and then make a new psn acount using your old email address, it is really stupid the way they have got it set up

Hi Flame, thank you for that, I do have those details, so will try it. I thought I had tried it already, but have to admit I was more than a little frustrated by this time and have quite possibly overlooked trying that! Seems obvious now you say it. Thanks again.

Do you have the login details (email/password) for you son's PSN account? Go into his User on your PS3, and if you see "Sign up for Playstation Network" go into that. On the first page (maybe second page) you should see "Use existing details" (or similar) -- choose that and you should be able to enter his PSN details.

Hi. I'm tearing my hair out with this - everything seems so intuitive these days - except for Sony's PS3!! Maybe I'm having a bad day, but I've been working on this for hours. I have the sub account set up on line and I set up a new user on the PS3 itself before I started - that's how I got the who process started. Now I go back onto the PS3 hoping to sign in my son and there is no way of signing in, without creating a new user - doing this just sets the whole proces off again. It must be soimething I'm missing. What am I doing wrong?

You're probably under age. Sub-Accounts are generally restricted from playing online. There are some parental controls but also Playstation Support might have to change it.
